Wednesday is here! Wednesday is here! Time to share What’s on your workdesk (WOYWW)! The lovely Lady Julia has the list at the always awesome Stamping Ground. Come on, We’ll show you ours if you will show us yours…

Here is our desk today:

Creative Me is a bit distracted by the upcoming return of our Fabulous Spouse…as is reflected in the card that she created…

Now it is time to channel inner Mary Poppins and tidy up the Scrap Room…if only it were that Easy! OCD Me wants her handbag!

Fabulous Spouse is finally back here in the United States! Hopefully, he will be home by the end of the week from the stateside demobilization process. The POW is definitely sure that this is by far more stressful than having him on The Front, but we do not know why…probably has just a little to do with the no plane ticket home yet though. Here is a picture of him with the Seabees in Kuwait.

Oldest Child got some real playing time this week as his Freshman Football team won 46-0! He has finally decided that the offensive line is fun, because it makes the defensive line look slow and you can mix it up. Also, for now…he has a 4.0! (Woo Hoo!) However, football does come with a price…the dreaded Football Crud. The wet cough and runny nose that no antibiotic can cure…you just need to tough it out.

Illusive Middle Child was not so lucky. There was no joy in Mudville…He lost his game 20-6. However, he too got a lot of playing time, so he really cannot complain (although he did…all the way home) LOL.

Girl Friday is repeatedly reminding us that all she wants for her birthday is her Daddy, and when he is home that she will tell him that she loves him, and give him kisses and hugs. She also has a double ear infection, but that did not keep her from cheering at her brother’s game. After all, real girls cheer.

Organize your Stuff (round 6): Week 1: WOYWW #171

Today is Wednesday, which means that we are half way through Week 1 of Organizing our Stuff, and it is also time to show off What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Where wonderful folks from around the world show off the neat, the tidy, the cluttered and the creative… We love them all, and are glad as always to be hostessed by the Fabulous Julia at the Stamping Ground.

Here is our desk today:

It is cluttered as usual, but as we are mid-crafty, Creative Me has not gotten to tidying up yet. …yeah… that’s it…

This is the card that Creative Me made using the scraps from our Monday layout, and detritus that PA Me missed when it was her turn in the rotation to clean up. Yes, those are photo scraps behind the words!  It was inspired, by of all things our DVR'd episode of FaceOff where they had to design makeup for Alice in Wonderland characters infected with Resident Evil Zombie viruses...seriously.

When we stop to think about our scrap space, OCD Me has decided that she loves the ink and Copic storage (even if Creative Me and the Inner Hoarder would LOVE more). The scrap storage is working pretty well too.

However, the general clutter, and yes…*sigh* the volume of memorabilia is just TOO MUCH! We are not going to fit another desk in here, so we need to clear off some real estate…stat!... before Creative Me dies a slow death from under use… we’re not dead yet!

Well, here is another picture of our favorite Patriot, Fabulous Spouse. A day after the September 11th Anniversary, we can tell you that WE will never forget, as we feel officially trifecta-ed with Fabulous Spouse on deployment in his submarine for the original September 11th, a trip to Iraq for the Surge, and now a trip to Afghanistan… and not even any frequent flier miles to show for it! Here is to supporting The Front!

At the Homefront… we are living the American dream…er, pastime… football! Oldest Child had his first High School Varsity home game…where he played his trombone in the Pep Band.

Girl Friday and Illusive Middle Child had practice during the first half, but the good thing about a home game is that we just had to get our hand stamped and pick them up from the back fields and walk them in during halftime!

We even got our pic snapped by the field photographer! (We are in the green shirt to the left of  the mom in the #12)

The next day, the field belonged to the Little Guys, as it was Junior League Football time. Girl Friday cheered for both the 1st/2nd Grade Team, and the 3rd/4th Grade Team (her brother’s team).

Illusive Middle Child was channeling his Inner All-Star, as he was a Team Captain and started Offense and Defense. The score was 42-6, and he only got a rest when they had to kick-off after the goals and when they finally put in the second string.

Then, it was Freshman Football time. It is the second game of the season, but it is the first one for which Oldest Child was eligible (he broke his ankle the second day of football camp back in July). With Illusive Middle Child as the ball boy...

and Oldest Child on the Offensive Line (2 series in the 3rd quarter and 1 in the 4th), they too got a win…14-6!

Organize your Stuff (round 5): WOYWW 157

Welcome wonderful Wednesday and all that is WOYWW (What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday) where we wander and watch the countertops, benches, laps, floors or anywhere that crafty happens around the globe. It is hosted, as always, by the wonderfully awesome Julia at the Stamping Ground.

For starters, the POW was super excited to find two little goodies in the post today. Our first ATCs from abroad! (Wow, her Majesty’s mail is fast! We are afraid that our lowly mail monkeys are not nearly as efficient).

Thank you so much Jo (Twiglet) and Jill! The POW assures you that while delayed getting to the post office, they are enroute. (PS- We love you mail lady).

In the wonderful world of crafting, Creative Me has been working on some extra ATC’s for those extra gals who agreed to swap with us last week, so that they could be mailed, a Father’s Day card (forgot to photograph), our 31 Days prompts, and this…

We have been busy! Which of course means that the craft room has not gotten any cleaner. PA Me keeps telling the POW and OCD Me that we will get to it after school gets out…which is soon.

Fabulous Spouse finally sent us some pictures from his new office on the Front. He is the guy in the middle of the back row that looks like he is hiding, because he should really be in the front row. (PS- Fabulous Spouse is 5’ 10 “ which makes everyone else giants). He is currently working 15+ hour days, so we keep hoping that that whatever sleep he gets is quality sleep! (Silly war, not going on during normal working hours!)

Oldest Child finished up his Middle School Track career. He also went to his Boy Scout Order of the Arrow Ordeal, and passed. Since it rained this weekend the POW worried about him…sleeping under the stars in nothing but his sleeping bag and a tarp.

Illusive Middle Child was boy scout camping as well. This was his first “official” campout with the Boy Scouts (he is a Webelos as of Thursday, and those cub scouts ARE allowed to camp with the big boys). He played all sorts of skill games, shot archery, was pulled in the human chariot races, made meals, and got to climb the giant pioneering tower one campsite over. He LOVED it.

Girl Friday camped as well (at Great Wolf Lodge with the Girl Scouts) and then spent the week prepping for the 1st Grade School Musical. The theme was Old MacDonald, and her class was all pigs. She had a blast, and if we knew how to embed video, we just might have!

Organize your Stuff (round 5): WOYWW 154

Welcome Wednesday! How are you doing? Well, it has been another busy week, and that means that time has flown by us yet again. It is now time to show you What is on our Workdesk. The Fabulous Julia at the Stamping Ground hostesses us as always. Come over to her place and peek at all the desks, messes, and fabulous craftiness that the world has to offer.

Here is our desk this week…

OCD Me and the POW are on the verge of staging an intervention and cleaning up the Chernobyl-esque disaster that is our craft room. However, since the POW is also in charge of making sure that the kids make it everywhere that they need to go, get fed, occasionally bathed, and that the Cat does not disown us, it is still at the bottom of the infamous To-Do list.

However, one of these days, we will not have anything better to do…in which case PA Me and the Inner Hoarder had better take notice. It will get cleaned! (really) (no really. You can stop snarking coffee out your nose. It is not that funny…ok, maybe a little).

We started out fabulously serious, but then Creative Me added the googly eyes, and it made us smile. Tim Holtz is probably shaking his head in shame… but we still like it. (Has the POW mentioned that we are just a tad sleep deprived right now?)

This week on the Front, Fabulous Spouse has been busy escorting VIPs and trying not to let the humidity get to him. He managed to send off this picture of himself meeting Nancy Pelosi (former Speaker of the House of Representatives, and current Minority Leader). We were just impressed that he actually got it on film. Sometimes, you just need to be in the right place at the right time!

Most of our energy this week went into preparing for Girl Friday’s Girl Scout Troop’s fundraiser… a Mommy Daughter Tea. Each girl was responsible for decorating a table and supplying the place settings. We turned to Goodwill to get our place settings and most of the rest of the decorations. This is what we ended up with…a high end bumblebee theme…

…All the guests voted on best table decorations, and she came in 1st place! Since Girl Friday set the table and arranged the flowers in the middle, we definitely call this her win (even if Creative Me and the Inner Hoarder did the actual shopping). We just had to throw this picture in, because it reminds me of Alice at the tea party when in Wonderland!

While we were tea partying, my brother and his wife were bringing a little someone into the world. So, they qualified for Mother’s Day (American Observance) just under the wire.

Illusive Middle Child (token Morning Person in our family) got up at 5AM, heated the oven, and made us cinnamon rolls. Did we mention 5AM. He made all of us breakfast in bed (which upset the other two children as they did not see the point in getting up at 6AM…even for cinnamon rolls).

Earlier in the week, Illusive Middle Child took 2nd place in his age group for the Hershey’s Track Meet and qualified as a State Finalist. We are very proud of him. Especially since he did not join the track team this year, but went out for the meet because his gym teacher asked him too.

Oldest Child is still throwing shot put for his Track Team. We had our first meeting for High School Football last night, and he is super excited…except that summer practice may keep him from attending the Troop 50 mile hike.

Organize your Stuff (round 5): WOYWW…back from hiatus

Well it is that time of the week again…Wednesday. And although we have been missing in action the last two weeks (blame PA Me and the failure of the cloning process), all the other crafty folk around the globe have been showing off their work spaces and the cool goodies that they have been creating. The always awesome Mistress Julia of the Stamping Ground runs the WOYWW. Pop on over to see other places or join in!

Here is our desk today…

We are definitely in need of some spring cleaning in here, but as it is Spring, and we have three kids… that means that we are never home, and usually ping ponging between three separate places and wondering when the teleportation app will come out or when the cat will finally stop being a slacker and actually go out for her driver’s license.

Creative Me threw together this card for Mother’s Day. Happy Mother's Day (celebrated this Sunday here in the US)! Since several have asked, the pointy thing holding up the card is a floral frog. We got ours in the gardening center of our Fred Meyers grocery store (a Kroger company), but I am sure they are available everywhere by power of the internet.

For any who may have worried, all truly is quiet on the Front. Our hiatus was truly PA Me’s inability to find time to post (totally lame excuse, we know). Since we last posted, Fabulous Spouse has met lots of cool people, like the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and a Navy SEAL Admiral (which was more impressive to Illusive Middle Child aka the future SEAL) …without a camera…and celebrated a few holidays, like May the 4th aka Star Wars Day, and Cinco de Mayo (but no pictures again, as this time he was behind the camera).

However, Creative Me did put together this digital layout from April, when he got to have lunch with a Medal of Honor Recipient from the Vietnam War.

As for the rest of the tribe, Oldest Child is finishing his last quarter before going to High School. Our baby is growing up! *sigh* He is currently shot putting for Track & Field… after a brief brush with the 100 meter dash. Boy Scout hiking season is also in full swing, and he actually lead the one last weekend…a mere 8 miles and 2300 foot gain (approx. 460 meters). To think, two years ago, he was bringing up the rear!

Illusive Middle Child has finished soccer season. So now we have just Cub Scouts on the official docket, but he is usually patrolling the neighborhood with his nerf gun (remember, future SEAL). As a matter of fact, we had to get his hair cut because he felt it had gotten too long.

Girl Friday has been a real helper. She is on dish duty most of the time. This is both good news and bad news. Good news- dishes getting done, bad news- the water bill has doubled, as she is running the dishwasher whenever at least three or more hapless dishes meander into the sink. Recently, she went to the Girl Scout Alice in Wonderland dance (in her version of an Alice Dress). She also was the star helper at Girl Scout spring encampment this past weekend… reportedly being the first to get ready and picked up.

So while the Pod People may have come in the middle of the night and replaced them with the Stepford versions of really good, helper children, I am not about to trade them back.  Not for anything!

Well, last Wednesday, we were on Spring Break and left home shortly after posting. So, now it is Wednesday again and while PA Me and OCD Me fight over whether to do laundry or dishes the POW decided to sneak on over to the computer and get up our What’s on your Workdesk Wednesday (WOYWW) picture. Travel over to Julia’s Stamping Ground to see all the other fabulous Crafty Places, Spaces, and projects…and to make a friend or two!

This is a pretty cool card for Tuesday Trio’s Sketch 115: Frames. Recently, Creative Me had heard that using the Fabulous Mr. Tim Holtz’s tapes with his crackle paints had fabulous results… and the results were awesome until Creative Me stood the card up and the crackle started popping off! Timmy Fans of WOYWW, do you know the trick?

Anyway, Creative Me is pouting now, and PA Me has decided that she needs some quiet space, so Dies this weekend.

This was an interesting week at the Front. Fabulous Spouse’s base was amongst those targeted by the Taliban. The good news, nobody hurt, everyone survived the late boxed dinners that were delivered to their work spaces, and the Office Dodgeball team actually won a game. The bad news, Fabulous Spouse’s visitors were rerouted, and no new pictures for this week…except my newest flowers sent from the Front. (PS-Girl Friday is seriously convinced that they are for her).

As for the family, this week was Spring Break…a holiday from school. The Scary Orb in the Sky a.k.a. The Sun came out and we had fabulously warm days that popped into the 60s! We also took a trek down to see the rescue wolves at Wolf Haven (on the only rainy day of course!)…

…as the educational component to our three day stay at the Great Wolf Lodge.

Never heard of it? It is a water park …

That is also Harry Potter-esque world called Magi Quest that has you running up and down five flights of stairs and waiving your wands...

...to complete quests.

Then we got home just in time to send Oldest Child off to go camping with the Boy Scouts, and take Illusive Middle Child to a soccer game (which they finally won!).  Now we are back to school and homework and the regular run around!  Have a great week!

Organize your Stuff Week 21 (round 5):WOYWW 149 Pens& Pencils

Hey Wednesday! Good to see you again! We have been overwhelmingly busy preparing for the holidays this weekend. For our Jewish friends… Happy Passover! … for our Christian friends… Happy Easter! For those up here in the Pacific Northwest…Happy Spring/ Spring Break! We have sun, and thanks to the illusive orb in the sky, we have warm, dryish 60 degree (15.6 C) weather! Which also means that when it comes to What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday (WOYWW) , we have very little to show. For those not in the know, WOYWW is where creative folks all over the globe share their spaces, their craftiness, and maybe a little about their lives. Click on the awesome Julia’s Stamping Ground to see the 150+ lot of them!
Here is our desk today…

For us, it is Week 21 (and the POW does admit that somehow PA Me has commandeered these last few weeks and we are not exactly sure how so sorry for no organizing pics. ooops). It is the week of Pens and Pencils. Since we have gotten a number of inquiries about our Copic holder, the POW has decided they count in this category (although OCD Me disagrees).

It is quite simple really. We just took our Crystal Light containers and recycled them with rubber bands once we consumed the drink mix packets inside. They are the perfect size for Copic markers, and the top still fits. You could probably hot glue them, but this way I can take one canister or all of them.

Today’s picture from the Front is Fabulous Spouse and office mates with their mini Easter Baskets (which arrived two days after the box that we sent afterwards….the POW was very stressed that it was going to be a Who-ville Easter!). However, it did get there in time, and everyone was happy to have some jelly beans, Cadbury eggs and chocolate bunnies!

As for us, it was a bunch of running around as usual, with the addition of Easter egg dying…

...in preparation for the big day...

hunted eggs (Oldest Child finally decided he was too old to hunt)

Then we headed to the Space Needle for Brunch
