Organize your Stuff: Week 23 (round 4): WOYWW #117

It is hard to believe that it is Wednesday already! Tomorrow is our first day of school, but today is another What’s On Your Work desk Wednesday sponsored as always by the fabulous Julia at the Stamping Ground. In honor of “back to school”...here is our piles of back to school supplies, ready to be labeled.

Note: there are no pencils. Here is the stack of pencils that are due… sharpened… tomorrow. And, next to them is the electric pencil sharpener that the POW finally allowed the Inner Hoarder to purchase. 36 pencils for Girl Friday, 48 for Illusive Middle Child, and 24 for our Oldest Child (*sigh* our baby is now an 8th grader!).

Now, on to our desk. It still has a scrap from Monday’s enjoy layout on it, as well as our card for Tuesday Trio.

Our Tuesday Trio design team card was actually an interesting challenge. This week, we have our first sponsor: Crafty Sentiments Designs from the UK! Therefore, Creative Me got to use her first ever digi stamps (which were super cool BTW!) in this punch challenge.

Where are the punches?

The easiest for Creative Me to point out is the 1 1/8 circle punch on the sentiment, the stitching holes punch (behind the sentiment) and the corner rounder.  However, the sun is also made using our waves border punch from fiskars.  Here is how Creative Me made it.

1. Punch out  some waves.

2. Cut up and apply to 1 1/8 circle base.

3. Place sentiment on top!

Sometimes you just need to think outside the box to get those punches to work for you!

Tomorrow We have our One Little Word (OLW) Blog hop! So hop the WOYWW today, and come back tomorrow for some more!

Ooh, ooh, I have an electric pencil sharpener too and I love it! When I worked in school, it made my life a breeze, though sometimes they argued over who was going to use it next. And that was just the teachers...!!! I really like the way you used the wave punch to make the roundel under the sentiment - very clever. Gotta make your stuff work for its living :D Hugs, LLJ xxxx

My baby has just had her first day at college... now that's when you can start to feel really old! *lol*
Love your project... and you are so organised! Wish I could be like that :) Unfortunately, I create in mayhem, madness and total unstructured mess!
Here's hoping you have a terrific WOYWW!

I feel your pain on those pencils, I have 3 in school this year too and I felt like we spent HOURS sharpening pencils. :)

What a clever girl you are, the sun is fabulous! All those pencils? No ways I would do that without an industrial sharpener!
Happy WOYWW

someone tried to sell me a hugely expensive Martha Stewart punch today, I very politely explained that I could do far more with a craft knife...

she said I was clever, and i said 'no - just tight with money!'

Cool way to use the wave punch. Love the look of all those new unsullied pencils. You have an eight grader and have just given in to an electric sharpener? Cor, well done!!

ohoo your 'wavy' sun is really clever!! Yes I amazed myselfthatI found the magine too, but, I did have athe page marked with a yellow post it note, so it wasn't too bad...just 100 odd mags with yellow tags to go through! Shame it waslast year though, still,I MIGHT find the papers in a sale!

Your use of the wave punch is just to creative, i love it.
Your card is so stink'n cute.
As for the electric pencil sharpener, I have one but I have to keep turning the pencil so it sharpens evenly.
