Organize your Stuff: Week 12 (round 5): WOYWW 138

Thank goodness it is Wednesday, and We have POWER! *YEAH!!!!*

That means that we are able to share our crafty space as a part of that wonderful WOYWW (What’s on your Workdesk Wednesday), hosted by that always awesome Julia at the Stamping Ground. Come and see what everyone else is crafting and where they do it!

This is what our desk looks like today…

We have honestly not been that crafty this week. We lost power on Thursday, and then we did not get it back until Sunday night. So, for those WOYWW-ers, the POW apologizes for not visiting, we really really wanted to! Instead, OCD Me had us emptying and cataloging all the food from our refrigerator/ freezer, throwing it away, then cleaning the insides from top to bottom.

However, Creative Me did complete the above card right before this post. It is our Design Team entry for Tuesday Trio’s Sketch #103: Warm colors. Creative Me was definitely not in a warm color mood, sometimes it is not up to us. Girl Friday made a card too.

Well, what has been up? Not much. We have definitely been bonding. We had five “snow” days. The first few were for snow, but then it turned to ice and rain and power outages.

We had ice cream soup on power outage day #2 since the freezer started failing.
Then we retreated to a friend's house an hour north, as using a car as the world's most expensive cell phone charger and camping out at the Cutters Pointe coffee had lost its luster.  Super S thanks for opening your home!

Where in the world is Fabulous Spouse?  He has been in transit to Afghanistan since Friday, in a different country every day. Here is a picture of him at a layover in Bangor, Maine.

Fabulous Spouse then had a 24 hour layover in Germany and a two day stop in Kuwait. He finds it amusing, that there is a Starbucks even out there at a base in the desert (new since 2007)! Now we are waiting for him to find the internet and let us know that he has made it safely to his endpoint.

So, happily heated and electrified, We are off to hop around the WOYWW world. Come join us!

Oh I am oh so grateful I moved south and we don't have the winters that take the power away that often. I can remember living in Missouri 1979 and being without power for over a week. not a good thing. Glad to hear it is back on. Also glad to hear DH is at destination and doing well. Have a great week and thanks for sharing! Vickie #27

It's at times like that when you find out who your true friends are! What a pain to be without power for such a long time - your winters are obviously harsh but beautiful, that first photo is stunning!

Ok 2nd try, first one got while walled :( We haven't had any long powercuts (by this I mean more than an hour or 2) for about 20 years - they got fed up over here and buried all the electricity cables........ Hope you hear from you DH soon - always good to know people have arrived safely when they are travelling.

Oh my goodness, I am so sorry about your power outage!
We lost power twice in 2006 for five days each time and it was miserable.
But sounds like you made the most of it!!

Glad to hear you have got your heating and power back on. Lucky you have super friends. I don't like ice cream in the winter so ice cream soup would not have been good for me!
Happy Scrapping and hugs to you all! I am sure Hubby will contact you as soon as he can! Send him a hug from Wales, UK too!

5 snow days.... sounds very weird to my sun and rain soaked australian brain... we are in heavy flooding summer rains at the moment, and had kids sent home from school yesterday, so maybe it is our version of a snow day... glad you managed to get some work done... happy woyww

Great card ... sorry to hear about your weather ordeals. Its just rain, rain, rain and then some floods in our part of the world.

Cute cards.
I am so happy for you that you have your power back on.
We keep our coolers in the shed, so if the power goes out for a long time, we can put the pricey food in there, and not worry about critters getting it :)

Wow drama-filled week then! So the icecream could have been put outside in snow-ville to re-freeze perhaps, or am i missing something? LOL
Looks very cosy now, but nothing worse then no power in snow bound situations. I have a generator here for just that situation!

I thought about you last week when I was watching the video of all those people sledding down the streets in Seattle!! Modern conveniences are fantastic when they work aren't they? Starbucks in the desert! Whatever next, I bet they sell a lot of Iced Lattes!!

Lack of electricity makes me sad. It sounds like you made it through just fine, cups of ice cream soup for all. You made a great card for not being in the mood!

Oh my - I didn't have heat one night this week, I can't imagine not having it - in the PNW - for 5 days! Goodness! Glad you had a place to go. And equally glad that you could get back into your crafting space! That's the important thing! :)
